Flood kit
Riverine, coastal-surge, or urban surface water — a calm kit that fits your home, plus a 90-second wizard to personalise it.
Flood risk is mostly geography and a few decisions. Whether your street is on a published flood map, whether you live above or below the ground floor, and whether you have ten minutes or six hours to react — those three things determine almost everything you need. The kit below is the universal half; the wizard handles the rest.
Why this kit, not a generic 72-hour list
A coastal-surge household and a rural river-bend household need overlapping but different lists. Document protection, sandbagging, and evacuation gear are not the same priority for each. Our wizard asks about your postal code and home type, then adjusts the items and quantities. Generic flood lists are roughly right; personalised ones are usable.

Three habits this week
- Check whether your postal code is on the national flood-hazard map this week. If yes, photograph your important documents and back them up to a service you can reach from any phone.
- Move one rechargeable lamp, a phone charger, and a change of clothes to the highest floor (or highest shelf if you are single-storey). That is your "ten-minute go" cache.
- Find out the local warning channel — siren, app, or radio frequency — and write the source on the fridge. Apps fail; fridges do not.
